About Neil Benneworth
Neil is a chartered quantity surveyor with over 25 years’ experience working for contractors, subcontractors and clients across building, civil engineering, rail, defence and process engineering projects. Prior to joining SOCOTEC Advisory, he worked as a commercial and risk manager for the largest Australian contractor, responsible for projects with a combined value of over £500 million. More recently, Neil has acted as project manager on challenging contracts where the previous incumbent has been terminated.
Neil is conversant with NEC and JCT contracts and has administered IChemE, Alliance and Management Contracting contracts. He is experienced in determining entitlement, valuation of works and variations, procurement, risk management and adherence to contractual obligations.
Alongside providing guidance and training to a team of quantity surveyors, Neil is a key mentor and APC Supervisor and Counsellor for our team at SOCOTEC Advisory and has successfully assisted colleagues in achieving chartered status with the RICS.

Neil Benneworth has been an associate director at SOCOTEC Advisory since 2022. Prior to this, he was associate director at Base Quantum, which was acquired by SOCOTEC in 2022. Neil has previously worked for companies such as CPB Contractors, Balfour Beatty and Dean & Dyball Construction Ltd.
