This week is Chartered Week 2025, running from 24 to 28 February. At SOCOTEC, we take immense pride in working alongside dedicated colleagues who have achieved Chartered status and this year’s theme “Celebrating Trusted Professionals” resonates deeply with our commitment to excellence and professional development within our organisation.

What is Chartership?
Chartership is a formal qualification awarded by professional bodies or learned societies, recognising an individual's exceptional level of competence in their professional field. This prestigious designation is more than just a title; it is a testament to our team members' expertise, dedication, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Achieving Chartered status offers numerous advantages, both for our professionals and our clients:
Recognition of Expertise: It signifies to clients, regulators, employers, and the public that an individual is a competent professional with a high level of knowledge, skills, and experience.
Ethical Standards: Chartered professionals are bound by a code of professional conduct, ensuring the highest ethical standards in their work.
Industry Advancement: Chartership helps raise standards of competence and ethics across the industries we serve.
Our Chartered Professionals
Within our Ground Investigation (GI) division we have a number of professionals who have attained Chartered status in various disciplines. These include Chartered Geologists, Scientists, and Engineers, accredited by prestigious institutions such as the Geological Society, Institution of Environmental Sciences, and Institution of Civil Engineers. Furthermore, we are proud to have several team members listed on the Register of Ground Engineering Professionals (RoGEP), demonstrating the next level of geotechnical expertise and industry recognition. This diverse array of qualifications underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence in ground investigation services.
