In our day-to-day operations, it is inevitable that SOCOTEC impacts on the environment in a number of ways, and we are committed to reducing that impact through the continual improvement of our environmental performance. Sustainability considerations are also fully integrated in our business decision-making, implemented this through such applications as environmental awareness training for our employees, measuring our carbon footprint and promoting a sustainable approach to all of our clients and stakeholders. 

Personal and professional development

As part of their personal development plan, employees are provided with a clear route for progression, with regular training and advice readily available. They will also receive regular one-on-one time with their line manager to discuss their performance, establish objectives  

Improving safety culture in the workplace

SOCOTEC is committed to minimising the risk of injury and ill health to our employees, clients and stakeholders. We will safeguard employees, clients and third parties from foreseeable hazards connected with work activities, processes and working systems. As part of this vision, we actively encourage all of our employees to be Health and Safety heroes, empowering them to engage with the safety aspects of their roles at all times.

Workplace wellbeing initiatives

Safeguarding health and wellbeing in the workplace is also vital, which is why we have a number of workplace wellbeing initiatives in place. For example, our Employee Assistance Programme provides 24-hour access to a network of over 1,500 counsellors and psychologists who can advise on a range of legal, financial, personal, health and lifestyle issues via a confidential hotline. Users can also access such resources as monthly webinars, wellbeing articles and online CBT courses.
