About David Stent
David Stent is a Regional Director for SOCOTEC Building Control who has experience working for both clients and contractors on residential, commercial and Ministry of Justice projects throughout the UK.
David is experienced in all aspects of the implications of the Building Regulations within England and Wales. David’s projects to date have included residential & Commercial buildings including considerable experience with Hospitals, Schools and all elements of the Crown Estate in relation to Prisons (MoJ)

David has been a Regional Director at SOCOTEC UK since Butler & Young Ltd was acquired by Socotec Building Control. Prior to David’s current position, David was a Regional Director at Butler and Young Ltd. David previously worked for Peterborough City Council from 1975 – 1999, prior to joining Butler and Young, where for the last 13 years he was Principal Building Control Surveyor.

Peterborough Regional College and Lincoln Technical College 1975 - 1985
Professional Licences and Certification
- Qualified into The Incorporated Association of Architects and Surveyors (IAAS) and was elected a member as a Corporate Building Surveyor on the 10th January 1985
