About Eddy Khoury

Eddy Khoury is the Associate Director & Fire Engineering Lead at SOCOTEC UK, with extensive experience in fire safety on medium to large scale construction projects, at international level.

His professional experience in fire & life safety spans across a diversified range of projects that include airports, industrial facilities, storage facilities, commercial complex, office and residential high-rise buildings. His career in the emergency and safety sectors spans various roles, including Equipment and Disaster Manager for the District Mountain Lebanon EMS from 2012 to 2014, where he managed equipment logistics and disaster response operations.

In addition to the UK, Eddy has extensive experience working in various countries across EMEA region, such as the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. In 2019, Eddy Khoury was selected as a guest lecturer to deliver trainings tri-annually for the Saudi civil defence officers on the use of Saudi Building Code and NFPA standards. He delivered the trainings between 2019 and 2020 in the civil defence academy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

He is experienced in developing fire engineering solutions and performance-based design strategies, conducting qualitative and quantitative fire risk analysis, performing evacuation modelling using pathfinder software, evaluating tenability conditions using Pyrosim FDS modelling, evaluating Façades systems fire performance, designing protection schemes for special application projects such as aircraft hangars or storage facilities, and code consulting for different trades regarding fire and life safety design.
