About Mohammed Abbas
Mohammed is a chartered quantity surveyor with 7 years’ experience working in the construction industry, notably in the civils and rail sectors. He has provided both pre‑contract and post‑contract commercial services on a variety of projects and programmes. Mohammed has experience working on a range of frameworks with numerous clients and consultants.
Mohammed has commercially managed lump sum, re-measurable and cost reimbursable NEC3 and NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts (ECC) and Professional Services Contracts (PSC). His experience includes strategy formulation, procurement, change management and commercial reporting. He has also been proactive in recovering contractual entitlement and identifying commercial opportunities.
More recently, Mohammed opened and leads the SOCOTEC Advisory office in Manchester and is pursuing opportunities in the North of the UK. Mohammed is also supporting in the development of other members of the technical team to undertake their Assessment of Professional Competence with the RICS.

Mohammed Abbas has been an associate at SOCOTEC Advisory since 2023. Prior to this he was a senior quantity surveyor and quantity surveyor at Base Quantum, which was acquired by SOCOTEC in 2022. He has previously worked for Transport for London.
