ITM monitoring, a SOCOTEC company, wins monitoring contract for new Lidl development
ITM are pleased to be working with Kier providing critical monitoring works during the construction of a new Lidl food store on Richmond Road in Twickenham, London.
When completed, the redeveloped site will comprise a new three storey building housing a 1,141 sqm Lidl food store, a two-form entry primary school above the store, as well as a car park of 55 spaces.
The site formerly housed a terrace of commercial and residential buildings which have since been demolished. Monitoring works commenced on the site when the construction phase began in the Spring of 2018.
ITM’s 12-month construction monitoring solution utilises a mix of manual and automated systems, including strings of in-place inclinometers installed at the gable end of an existing party wall to measure rotation, retro reflective targets on the site’s perimeter wall as well as retro targets and two automatic tilt sensors installed on an electric substation located in one corner of the site.
Automated readings are continuous (hourly), with manual readings taken monthly and all data delivered to the client team through ITM’s data visualisation software Calyx OMS, providing automated alerts to any movement threshold breaches.
