SOCOTEC Awarded Five Year Water Monitoring Contract with Skanska

Skanska is one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, working to build, upgrade and maintain the country’s infrastructure. As part of this commitment, Skanska has adopted a collaborative working approach to deliver long-term value for over 400 City of London sites, bringing SOCOTEC on board to ensure the highest quality of service for these water projects.

The contract, which began in August 2017, was awarded to the company as a result of their exceptional responsiveness to reactive work, over a previous two year relationship with Skanska. What began as the management of Skanska’s cooling towers has now expanded to include cooling towers, and both domestic and closed water systems.

SOCOTEC’s services will include monthly temperature monitoring and quarterly shower descaling to ensure that the water systems meet the highest quality standard. As well as this, SOCOTEC will conduct six monthly legionella and potable sampling, tank inspections and closed system testing. With these tests and inspections, Skanska can be assured that their legislative responsibilities are being met, providing safe and compliant water systems across London.

Not only will Skanska have full access to all of SOCOTEC’s water services, including water treatment equipment and chlorine dioxide servicing, the company can also offer an unrivalled range of environmental monitoring and compliance consultancy across the group. Following a full scale rebrand from ESG to SOCOTEC, clients will benefit from even greater geographical scope and technical provision.
