SOCOTEC, the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, will once again be supporting delegates attending Brownfield Land Scotland 2020.
The conference, which will be held at the Edinburgh Grosvenor Hotel on Wednesday 5 February, welcomes key players from local authorities, environmental consultancies and regulatory agencies across Scotland for a day of industry-focused presentations, debates and networking opportunities.
This year, attendees will be updated on current planning and regulatory backdrops to brownfield land development, with practical solutions and strategies provided for many of the current challenges surrounding risk assessments and remediation for contaminated and derelict land. Expert speakers will present on a range of topics, including ground gas, waste management, key legislative changes affecting brownfield sites and developments surrounding data collection, transfer, storage and modelling.
On the day, members of SOCOTEC’s Environmental Chemistry division will support attendees at their designated information stand, discussing the organisation’s ability to assist with remediation works – including the development of brownfield land – throughout the entire project lifecycle, enhancing environmental performance and safety and ensuring full compliance.
Serving Scotland from its East Kilbride office, SOCOTEC’s team of experienced engineers and technicians offer comprehensive environmental and materials testing services, specialising in the analysis of soils, waters, effluents, industrial wastes, leachates, sediments, concrete and aggregates. The organisation also provides advice and expertise on potentially hazardous ground, contaminated land and asbestos found in soils.
“We are delighted to be supporting Brownfield Land Scotland for another consecutive year,”
“Our accredited on-site and mobile laboratories provide a flexible, reliable and client-focused service, as well as fast turnaround times, making SOCOTEC an ideal partner to support a range of brownfield land development and site remediation projects across Scotland and beyond.
