Utility Coring Investigation Services

Local authorities and utility providers rely on us to ensure that completed reinstatements for services such as gas, electricity, water, cable, and telecommunications all comply with the requirements set out in the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).

Reinstatements are assessed for suitability by checking that they comply with the requirements set out in The Specification of Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH) for England and Wales, and The Specification of the Reinstatement of Openings in Roads (SROR) for Scotland.

• Our laboratories perform Bulk and Maximum Density testing to assess the overall Air Void % of each individual structural layer to ensure full compliance with the relevant SROH/SROR specifications.
• A detailed report is provided, including photographs clarifying the exact core location and a scale photograph showing the condition of the extruded core as drilled on site.
• We also supply a summary report of all results to enable performance monitoring by individual subcontractors or utilities, pass/fail guidance, and concise details of any non-conformances within the SROH/SROR.
