We provide external training courses to the wider industry to facilitate the successful implementation and administration of construction contracts and to promote commercial awareness, enabling companies who may not have the resources to do so to support the development of their teams.
Standard Forms Training
JCT 2016
We provide in-depth training on administering the JCT Standard Building Contract, JCT Design and Build Contract, and JCT Intermediate Building Contract. This training provides in‑depth knowledge on compliance with the detailed provisions of the contract to achieve project success. Focus is predominantly on obligations, payment, change management and notice provisions.
These courses are suitable for a wide range of construction professionals, including (but not limited to) architects, project managers, contract managers and quantity surveyors, and can be delivered to project teams to promote team working.
NEC
Detailed training is also provided for the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and NEC4 Professional Service Contract (PSC), with focus on the relevant main option clause specified by the attendees, this being options A to E for the ECC and options A, C or E for the PSC. This training provides in-depth knowledge on compliance with the NEC's extensive provisions with respect to the programme and compensation events and helps to engender the spirit of cooperation set out by the contract. We also provide shorter, more focused courses in relation to compensation events, the time and cost effects of change, and programming and planning.
These courses are suitable for project managers, contract managers, quantity surveyors, estimators and clients, as well as other professionals working on the contract.
