SOCOTEC, formerly ESG, the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, will be hosting the Railway Environmental Forum again for 2017.
The Railway Environmental Forum has been running for over 20 years, with this year’s forum focusing on ‘Managing Environmental Inputs and Outputs’ at rail depots and work sites. The two forums, in both London and Glasgow, will cover topics such as; trade effluent, environmental hazard spotting, waste management, tanking points, onboard cleaning and carriage wash plants to look at the impact of depot processes, as well as implications of any depot outputs.
The annual forum continues to be one of the leading industry events for environment, health & safety and compliance in the rail sector. With over 100 years of experience in the rail industry, SOCOTEC provides advice in a wide range of fields and ensures clients are compliant with legislation.
SOCOTEC acquired ESG in March 2017. The name change, aligned with a full rebrand, took place on 17 October 2017, seeing the whole SOCOTEC brand evolve to provide greater geographical scope and technical provision to clients, including those from train operating companies, track and infrastructure operators, rail contractors and facilities managers.
Noelyn Allen, business development director, Environment & Safety, SOCOTEC, commented: “The Forum is an excellent opportunity for leading experts to share best practice, knowledge and expertise with key members of the rail industry. Our services to the rail network drive efficiency, cost savings, and innovative solutions, and the forum allows us the chance to discuss processes, procedures and legislation changes with those at the heart of rail.”
The Glasgow event will be held on 2 November 2017 at the Auchentoshan Distillery, with the London event taking place the following week on 9 November 2017 at Tower Bridge. Lunch will be provided, and delegates will have the opportunity to tour the distillery or the bridge and engine rooms.
A new name, the same standard, the same service; SOCOTEC look forward to welcoming attendees at the event. Spaces are limited so if you are interested in attending, please contact forum.uk@socotec.com
