SOCOTEC Presents Donation to The Alzheimer’s Society

    Tue 02/04/2020 - 16:26

SOCOTEC, the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, recently presented a fundraised donation totalling £2,633.69 to the Alzheimer’s Society.

The donation was a result of a number of fundraising activities held over the course of 2019 across various UK offices, including Informal Fridays, charity raffles, bake sales and the X-Runner Water Wipeout.

As SOCOTEC’s Chosen Charity for 2019, the Alzheimer’s Society received the highest number of votes out of a shortlisted six charitable causes for employees to support and donate all fundraising proceeds towards. These organisations are shortlisted based on their high percentage of charitable commitment, with the total number of donations raised spent in direct relation to their charitable mission (as opposed to administrative expenses).

The Alzheimer’s Society campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports those living with and affected by dementia, including day/home care, support, training and befriending services. Lisa Courtney, community fundraiser for the Staffordshire region, travelled from the organisation’s Cannock office to receive the cheque, and was both impressed and appreciative of SOCOTEC’s fundraising efforts.

“Through funds raised from Informal Fridays and a range of activities, we are delighted that SOCOTEC has been successful in raising over £2,500 for The Alzheimer’s Society, a truly deserving cause.”

John Sage, HR director, SOCOTEC UK
