    Project Overview

    Construction of a reinforced concrete weir to lift and stabilise the water levels in channels running through Maidenhead town centre, making the waterway accessible for small boats and other water-related activities.

    Works included lining the waterway bed to connect it to previous channel works, provision of a wetland area, and installation of bank retention to leave a natural edge to the waterway. The weir complex includes a fish and eel pass and boat rollers.

    Appointed from the outset of the project, pre-contract responsibilities included:

    • Project management as per the NEC4 contract
    • Advising on and issuing project manager's instructions
    • Commercial advice
    • Preparation of interim valuations
    • Preparation of monthly cost reports
    • Assessment of compensation events
    • Conclusion of contractual requirements, including issuing and checking defects schedules
