Our client was initially employed under a subcontract with a 35-week programme to install a specialist bespoke glazed curtain walling system on an 11-storey tower block. Insufficient site access was provided to our client from commencement of the project and changes to the project's installation sequences caused accrual of delays and additional costs. These issues were exacerbated by the complex, bespoke nature of the subcontract and the employer's unfamiliarity with UK construction practices.
Our Services
Resolution of the situation was dismissed by the employer and our team was engaged to provide the specialist advice and necessary support for an agreement to be made between the parties.
Services included:
Guidance on reacting and responding to the developing project conditions
Review of subcontract obligations, initiating procedures and systems to ensure compliance with notice provisions (for time and money) and condition precedence requirements
Assessment of contractual obligations for both parties
Production of detailed claims for loss and expense and extension of time
Pricing variations
Our extensive experience and understanding of the subcontractor's limited resources protected the subcontractor and ensured they received full entitlement.
